Reviews
"Addictive aromas of crème de cassis and plum jam with dark chocolate, tobacco, cedar and anise are wonderfully complemented by a concentrated palate that displays outstanding depth and weight. It’s magnificently composed and classically expressed with loads of fine-grained tannins, making it powerful yet refined. At its best: now to 2031." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Deep colour with tinges of purple and brick. The aroma is shy and elusive, a trifle meaty/oaky and earthy-developed, while the taste is again savoury and developed, with earthy tannins and deeply-buried cassis flavours. A full-bodied, solid but quite elegant cabernet, with plenty of ageing potential." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review

Description
McLaren Vale certainly has a reputation for its world-renowned shiraz, while in its shadow of late, the other great Australian red variety, cabernet sauvignon, continues to perform at the top of its game. Over the years the region’s cabernet has been awarded several of the most esteemed trophies in the world of wine – and here you can see why. Organically sourced grapes illuminate every sip of this wine, gorgeous black fruits and blue berries driving the flavour wheel of this typically full-bodied, powerful and richly textured sensory delight. Aromatically it is true to variety, subtle mint, florals and herbals lifting out of the glass while earthier, mid-dark chocolate palate feels, emanating from maturation for 22 months in French oak, stay steadfast underneath. Cabernet’s rich tannins are recognised here, too, with deft winemaking styling the finish to be toned, modern, and graceful.

Vintage Description
The 2016 vintage was heralded by many as ‘one of the greatest vintages in McLaren Vale’s history.’ Grapes were well balanced, with fantastic colour and flavour. Warm days and cool nights throughout vintage provided the ideal environment for the later parts of the ripening period for full flavour development. 2016 wines exhibit purity of fruit flavours with an elegant tannin.
